A total of seventeen awards were sponsored by supporters of the tourism and hospitality industry, and nearly 200 entries were made.

The apartments were only opened eighteen months ago – which makes the award even more special. “Knowing our high standards of customer care have been publically recognised makes all our hard work worthwhile” said Jayne Sullivan, Operations Manager for the apartments.

SACO was also pleased to sponsor one of the awards – for large visitor attraction of the year – which was won by Bristol Zoo. A happy coincidence in that the zoo is a charity SACO has previously supported when they purchased one of their life size gorillas in 2011. Over 60 gorillas were made and decorated to mark the zoo’s 175th birthday. Funds from the sale of the gorillas went towards the Bristol Zoo Garden’s gorilla projects and Wallace and Gromit’s Grand appeal.
